7 steps to 3 — redesigning how offshore wind technicians diagnose turbine faults

Offshore technicians were diagnosing turbine faults using SAP screens, PDF manuals, and phone calls — with no way to learn from other sites. I shadowed control room workflows, mapped the 7-step journey, and designed a 2-module platform that cut diagnosis to 3 steps. This case study covers the research, trade-offs, and stakeholder fights behind the final product.

Replaced a fragmented Excel/email/SharePoint workflow with a dedicated portal. Redesigned incident creation into a 3-step guided wizard with smart pre-fill, and shipped an AI-powered Virtual Analyst for NLP-based data querying — the only shipped AI feature in this portfolio.

I map journeys, run usability tests, and validate assumptions with real users before any Figma frame opens. Decisions should be traceable to evidence.

About

I'm a product designer who thrives in complexity — the kind of projects where there's no clean brief, five stakeholders disagree, and the users are domain experts who know more than you do. That's where I do my best work.

What I bring to the team

At RWE, I was the sole designer embedded across three product teams simultaneously. No design manager, no design system to inherit — I built the process, the components, and the stakeholder relationships from scratch. Before that, I owned end-to-end product design at Grassrootlab, a US-based fintech startup, where I shipped a lending workflow redesign and built the design system from zero.

I hold an M.Sc. in Usability Engineering (HCI) from Germany, which means I can talk equally fluently about cognitive load theory and Figma auto-layout. I'm now based in Ajmer, India, open to in-office or hybrid roles.

What I'm looking for

A product design role at a company where design influences the roadmap — not just receives tickets. B2B SaaS, fintech, or enterprise. I want to work on products where the hard problem is clarity, not decoration.
